Finally a new restaurant review. This time, I ventured from my cosy little uptown abode to Peaches, in Brooklyn, for brunch with one of my good friends for her birthday.

I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason. We were actually suppose to eat at another restaurant but luckily
unfortunately, it didn’t work out and we ended up at Peaches. Truthfully, I am so glad we ended up at Peaches because I now have a favorite brunch spot in Brooklyn.
By the time we arrived to Peaches we were cold, because it was snowing, and very hungry. So after a quick glance over the menu, everyone one quickly chose their dished and waited in great anticipation for the feast that was on the way. Fortunately, we were distracted from our great hunger by the amazing live band. After a few minutes of being serenading our starters arrived. Among them, was a delicious Kale salad, that included crunchy chickpeas, peppers, golden raisins topped with a tangy vinaigrette. The combination of sweet, crunchy, spicy and sour made for a well balanced and tasty salad, one of the best I’ve ever had. After having such a great salad, the anticipation for the meals was really building. So much so that the drinks ordered, I got a Brooklyn girl which was absolutely delicious, were barely noticed.

The meals came after a short time. I ordered the Blackened Catfish and grits and shared the granola crusted french toast, both were beyond amazing. The fish was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Now honestly I’m not a fan of plain ol’ grits. I’ll eat them accompanied with something like shrimp and grits (or catfish and grits in this case). But I could literally eat the grits from Peaches all day long. They were creamy, buttery and just melt in your mouth good.

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I’m sort of a French toast connoisseur and well Peaches’ french toast is in my top 5 of best french toast I’ve ever eaten. I can’t believe I never thought about using granola as a coating for my french toast. I will certainly be trying that trick on my next french toast.

According to everyone at brunch, we all agree that the food at Peaches was truly amazing and we would all love to come back to taste their “famous” fried chicken. If you check out the video below (the Peaches link), you will see a video I made with the Tastemade App, showing my experience at Peaches. I will be using the Tastemade to accompany all of my reviews now and I encourage you all to download the app and follow me there as well. Its a great way to discover great restaurant is many different cities.

Final Grades:

Food: A -If you read the post above you know why I couldn’t give anything less than an A
Ambiance (decor) : B -the only reason I gave a B is because seating is pretty tight and our chair where constantly getting bumped into
Overall experience: A  -The waitstaff was great and our waitress was very attentive and friendly
