Happy New Year Everyone!! I hope that your year is off to a great start. I’m in full planning mode for the year and it feels great to know all the things I’m looking forward to doing. Speaking of planning, one of my DC/NYC transplant friends gave me such a great idea that I want to conquer this year. I’ve always wanted to live in NYC and now that I do, I think its the perfect time to really get to know the New York that I love so much. My friend is doing a NYC bucketlist challenge, where she chose a week and is doing some of the things that are on her list to do in New York city. I thought that that was a great idea and decided that I too, would make a New York city bucket list and document some of my conquered list items here on the blog.

This past weekend I was able to cross one thing off the list and that was visiting the High line. The High line is an old set of elevated train track that run about a mile and a half along  the lower west side of Manhattan in Chelsea. What makes it so special is that is has some incredible views of the city  and in the summer time the garden that has grown over the tracks is just breath taking.

The scenery is so beautiful, even though its winter,  that I just had to take some pictures there. I decided to wear my favorite vintage jacket. Its so versatile and the pop of color is perfect to break up an all black look. I paired in with some black basics from H&M and my favorite Christmas gift, the Alexander Wand ‘Lys’ Heels. You all don’t understand the extent to which I have been coveting after these Alexander Wang beauties. They are so comfortable and make any outfit even more chic. Can’t wait to style them in different ways.
