Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

This past weekend I was thrilled to attend one of the biggest and best ways to kick off the summer social calendar, the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Veuve Clicquot , is one of the most popular (and tastiest) champagne brands and every year they have a huge Polo match to celebrate the start or summer. I love Veuve clicquot and even give it to my clients as house warming gifts so going to an event full of it was right up my ally.

Now I can’t say that I am much of a Polo buff (I didn’t even know the rules of the game until the announcer broke it down for us novices in the crowd), but I am a huge champagne, picnicking and partying fan and that’s exactly what our day consisted of.

The day started by catching a ferry from Battery Park to Liberty Park in New Jersey. After the quick boat ride (and a not so quick mile walk to the park) we arrived on the grounds. There was so much to do and see upon arrival but we knew we had to stake out picnic territory first to insure prime polo watching seating. After finding our spot, I started to set up our fabulous picnic spread, which consisted of a charcuterie board, fruits, vegetables and tons of other yummy snacks. While I was setting everything up, Robbie was tasked with braving the long line for champagne.

After indulging in our snacks and amazing champagne, we decided to walk about and take in all of the cool photo areas before the match started. As much as I want to say that the sport of Polo is super eventful and will have you on the edge of your seats (read: blankets), I can’t say I was too enthralled by the game. I much more enjoyed the people watching and champagne drinking.

The people at the match were dressed to the nines, which made this fashion girl super happy as I was able to get a street style fix and twirl around in my own runway worth look. I’m always excited to curate looks for event for myself but this event was extra special because Robbie, my husband, let me curate his look as well. He liked it so much he let me take a few blog pics of him (I think we have a future male blogger on out hands).

After about 5 hours of wining (championing ?) and dining all of the sun and fun had tired us out and we decided to pack it up and head home but not before we grabbed some Ice cream from one of the food trucks. (check our account on Instagram @icecreamhunters for tons of pics)
