5 Great Parks in NYC

When we think a great parks in NYC, Central Park is always the first one to come to mind but there are tons of other great parks in the City that are just as nice. While we’re still in the thick of the pandemic, its hard to not want to escape the four walls of your apartment from time to time and venture to the great outdoors. Well if you need a few new park to check out to switch it up (and practice social distancing), I have a list of 5 great parks in NYC so keep reading.

1. Prospect Park


Located in the middle of Brooklyn, bordered by the Prospect Heights, Prospect Leffort Gardens, Flatbush and Park Slope neighborhoods, Prospect Park is a beautiful oasis with over 90 acres of space. There are ponds, bike trails, the prospect park zoo and many more attractions that make this park a prime choice for your next outdoor adventure.

2. Hudson River Park

Over 550 acres of land running along the west side of Manhattan from 59th street to Battery Park, Hudson River Park is one of the most scenic and serene parks in the city. With beautifully landscaped gardens and an expansive (and active) bike and run trail makes this park the perfect place to get a workout or relax in.

3. Carl Schurz Park


This hidden gem of a park is located in the most eastern point of the upper east side between 84th and 90th streets and is also the grounds of Gracie Mansion. Call Schurz park boasts some amazing east river views and is one of the dog friendliest parks in the city with two dog run areas. These photos of me and Kobe were taken in Carl Schurz Park.

Marcus Garvey Park

Located in my home neighborhood of Harlem, Marcus Garvey Park is an epicenter of Summer time fun for all ages. There are several playgrounds for kids, chess tables, seating areas and hilly trails to exercise on.

Highbridge Park

Named after NYC’s oldest standing bridge, Highbridge park is located in the vibrant Washington Heights neighborhood just along the Harlem river. With picturesque views of the water tower and beautiful green pastures, Highbridge Park is definitely a great place to past time and get some fresh air.
