2020 Intentions and Goals

Happy New Year and welcome to the new decade! As with the start of most years, I am super hopeful and excited for all of the possibilities of this year. I’m slating to have the best year of my life in 2020. How do I know it will be my best year? Well because I want it to be and will work for it to be.

More recently, having New Years resolutions has gotten such a bad rap and I am here to disagree with all of those claims that they don’t work. I for one have seen the fruits of making resolutions. I like to call my resolutions,  intentions or goals, but whatever you call them, making sure that you back them up with an actionable plan, steps and some form of accountability is essential. That’s what makes your goals for the new year actually come to fruition.

To cross off one of those ways to make my intentions for the year stick, the accountability part, I’d like to share some of my goals here. I’d also like to encourage you to make some of your own and share them in the comments.

Be more creative CONSISTENTLY 2020 will make 9 years that I have been blogging and I really want to be more consistent at it. I think one or the issues with me not putting out as much content was the fact that I wouldn’t be putting things out that were up to a standard that I wanted to keep. Through a lot of soul searching, I realize that that was basically perfection anxiety, a lack of planning, and follow through. Starting late last year I started working on those issues and I think that this year it will allow me to share more on here.

Meet new people/ expand my friend circle
I love love love my friends and feel as though they have been super supportive of me over the years. I would like to meet a few more people that I can grow this kind of relationship with. I would also like to meet more people that I can learn new things from.

More Intentional Self-care and Wellness Last year, I actually started taking better care of myself. Eating a healthier diet (keto), working on a wake-up routine, getting more spiritual connected to God and taking time to treat myself. The only issue with how I did my self-care was that it was always very spermatic and most of the time it was an after thought. I would schedule these “me” times in between my busy real estate schedule and time with my hubby and family. Though this may work for some people and by all means, if this is the only way to get self-care in, please do. For me, I felt as though I wasn’t fully present in these moments and anxious that something that was more “important” wasn’t getting done. Self-care is very important, it not, the most important thing. If you don’t take care of yourself, how can you take care of others? This year, I’m making a point of prioritizing my self care.

Work Through Fear I suffer from anxiety and in the past couple of years I have been learning to manage it more and more. Through managing my anxiety, I’ve realized that I have started to avoid things that scare me or put me out of my comfort zone and that is not me. This year I want to get back to the Trisha who takes more risks, put herself out there and is more confident in herself. I started to use my anxiety as a reason to avoid situations that, though may have been great for me, we’re scary and that stops now.

Mixing Passions
Guys, I have a confession to make. I have been living a double life for about 6 years now. Ok, maybe not a real double life but it sure feels like it sometimes. I love blogging, sharing my style, food recommendations and just things I love in general but for a long time I thought that that could not include me sharing real estate. Real Estate is a huge part of my life (if you didn’t know I’m an agent and an investor) and for a long time I didn’t think that it would fit into this glamorous world of blogging. Foolishly, I thought that the those two aspects of my life couldn’t co-exist and of course that is such a false narrative. With that said, you should plan to see more real estate related posts and subject matter here on the blog and on my Instagram

More Video Content
This has been a looming project of mine for a long time but this year I will finally start doing more video content

Outifit Details:
Acler Top, Zara Pants, Alexander Wang Boots and Mulberry and Grand Purse

That a snippet of the list of intentions I have for myself. Maybe later in the year I share some others as they start to unfold. In the mean time, I would love to hear some of what your goal are in the comment section.
