Weekends in New York City

H&M turtleneck, Missguided vest, H&M Jeans, Vintage belt, Loeffler Randall boots

I’ve been a New Yorker for almost 2 yrs now but I still find myself getting overwhelmed with the “New York” weekend. The “New York” weekend is much different from your regular weekend because 1, It’s in New York, and 2, it usually should consist of something super cool that would make your Instagram followers jealous because they aren’t New Yorkers. I usually have the most trouble with the latter.

I’m a Real Estate agent and as you would have it, I usually work during the weekends. Between showings, open houses and business maintenance, I rarely have time to take advantage of all of the cool things New York has to offer.

Recently, I’ve been trying to fit some “cooler” activities in to my weekends as to not become a bitter old New Yorker who never enjoys her city. A few weekends ago, before and open house, le hubs and I decided to take a stroll through West Village, our favorite neighborhood.

If you know anything about NYC, you know the West Village is the locale for all of the chic people (that’s why we’re always there, duh). With streets lined with designer store its hard not to be. So when one is around such chicness one follow suit. Only problem is that it’s the weekend and I usually want to be a bit more relaxed and I’m also still working.

Que today’s outfit. This outfit was curated with all of that ^, in mind. I wanted something fairly relaxed but still put together and chic enough for my West Village weekends. It is a well known trick in New York that you can wear an all black look throw a jacket or vest over it and instantly become chic. I’ve been relying on this trick a lot this winter. I even got a bit of approval of this combination from a cute older lady who stopped to watch us shoot. See that’s the magic of the New York weekend, they are wonderful, unpredictable and always full of great (cute old lady) surprises.

I love the boots and the details of the buckles. As a New Yorker, I definitely understand being overwhelmed by the activities. I love the NY uniform you discovered. I would also invite you to explore Harlem sometimes.

Love that black/camel combo! That is one of the reason why New York is my favorite city.
